Dancing Candles

Today I wanted to share with you two cards using one file.  This file (Dancing Candles) comes from My Scrap Chick.  There are a lot of photos so please be patient.

Each card was made as an easel card with the measurements of 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".  I inked them both, added pink chalk for the cheeks, gel white pen for the eyes, and black zig pen for the eye brows.   So lets take a look........

Both Cards

1st Card "Make A Wish"

Front cover

Inside Caption

G Studio Stamp "make a wish"
Close-up of the 1st candle

2nd Card "Birthday"

Front Cover

Close-up of the 2nd candle
Inside Caption (Forgot to stamp Happy Birthday inside before scanning into computer)

Just centered the candle around the word "Birthday"

I understand I didn't give all information on how to make the 2nd candle card.  But I thought the pictures were enough to explain how to make it.  This file was so easy to put together once I decided on the colors.  However I will mention, if you would like to use both candles on one card.  Make sure to reduce the size.  My original thought was to have them both on one card.  But after cutting them,  I realized they were to big for one card.  Oh well!!!!

As always, thanks for stopping by.  I hope you have wonderful week.

Make A Wish

Needed to make a quick birthday card for our SIL.  So this is what I came up with.

The cut is from Miss Kates Cuttables.  I enlarged it to 5 1/2" so I could make a card.  I welded the very dark brown together to help make the card base.  However, where I welded it, it seemed to flimsy and would rip.  So I put a crease from the top about 3/4" down and taped it together.  Making my fold.  But before all this was done, I attached the inside copy of the title.  See photo below

I stamped "Happy Birthday" inside with Memento Tuxedo black and added Teresa Collins enamel shapes to the inside to give it some character.

For the candle I added some stickles yellow.  Once it dried it was off in the mail.  Happy Birthday Gabe!

Mom Shaped Card #2

For this card I made it as an A2 card.  So I enlarged it from the original file which can be found here at

Card Recipe:

White Cardstock
Green Cardstock
Pink Cardstock
Red Cardstock
Yellow Cardstock

I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the card base and 2 copies of the front layer in white. I glued pieces of colored cardstock behind one of the front layers then attached the other front layer to the back to make a sandwich.  I then popped the phrase onto the card base with 3d foam pads.

Below are close-up photos of the colored layer sections:

Mom's Shaker Card

Today I wanted to share with you a Mom's Shaker Card by

Card Recipe:

Purple Cardstock
K&Company - Floral Dreams Patterned Paper
Cream Cardstock
Papered Flowers
.007 Clear Craft Plastic Acetate
Old Michael's Stamp (Happy Mother's Day)
Quick Dry Adhesive Glue

In order to assemble this card, you will need to cut your card base once, then cut the solid Mom piece once in acetate, once in your chosen patterned paper, and once in plain cardstock. You will also need to cut the Mom outline once in the same cardstock as your card base then cut it several times to build your shaker walls, I cut 9 of these for my card.

Glue your front outline onto your acetate piece and set it aside to dry. Next, adhere your other outline pieces one by one on top of your patterned piece using wet glue so you have a little wiggle time.

Fill each section with different colored sequins. You could use glitter, small beads or confetti instead. The trick is not to add to much.

To seal your shaker sections, carefully add glue to the top of your shaker walls and pop your acetate panel into place.

If you would like to make one of these for your mom, please visit this link (Team KnK) where you can pick up the cutting file directly.

Happy Mother's Day to all of you!!!

Ava's Little Easter Basket

A couple of days ago I won a $15.00 gift card from My Scrap Chick.  I couldn't wait to go shopping.  This is one of the items I purchased.  Isn't it CUTE!!!!  I think my Granddaughter is going to love it.

Go to this link - My Scrap Chick - Trio of Bunnies if you are interested in purchasing this file.  It was so easy to put together.

I inked the entire basket with Color Box Wild Hare.  For the green on his feet, I inked them with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Peeled Paint.  For the orange, I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink Spiced Marmalade.

I drew her mouth and added some freckles with my black zig pen.  I foam taped the mouth and nose.  The nose was inked with Studio G pink ink.  For the eyes, I used my white gel pen.  I made the eyebrows by using my black zig pen.  She does have a belly and hands.  But unfortunately, you can't see them with the eggs inside the basket and I forgot to get a picture.

A closure look of the cute face.

Add finally for the tail.  It does come with a cut and it is attached.  However, I wanted something more.  So I put a cottonball on it.  To complete my bunny, I put pink grass in the basket and will be filling the three plastic eggs with goodies.  I didn't want to give her to much, since she is only two and everyone else will be giving.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful Easter Day tomorrow!
