Graduation Shaker Card

Today's been such a beautiful day.  So I wanted to get this posted quickly so I can enjoy the weather while I can.  Tomorrow we are do for rain.  Yuck!!!

Card Recipe:

Blue cardstock - 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
White cardstock 4" x 5 1/4"
Blue cardstock - 3 3/4" x 5"

Silhouette Store #43780 Polaroid Frame by Hero Arts (sized 3" x 4 1/2") cut out of white cardstock

Cricut cartridge Locker Talk

On page 48, I used the graduation hat on blackout at 1" and cut it out of black cardstock.  I glued it to the front of a piece of acetate.

Since MSU's colors are blue and gold.  I went to Joann's, purchased sequins by Darice in both colors, and added them inside my shake box.  I wrapped gold ribbon around the polariod frame and tied a knot in the front.

Cricut cartridge Flower Shoppe

On page 17, I cut the <Sunflwr2> at 2.60" x 4.12" out of Cartulina from Recollection.

I computer generated the sentiment using Times New Roman (22pt) and Cafe Rojo (28pt).  Note to self - next time give more spacing in between of and 2014.

I finished the card by adding some doodling with my white gel pen.

My daughter's girlfriend will be graduating this Fall (2014) from Montana State University, so what better time then now to start her card.

If you have any questions, please feel free to leave me a message.  I will be more than happy to assist you in anyway possible.  Otherwise, have a wonderful weekend.  I know I will because tomorrow is my birthday.  Can't wait to see what's in store for me.......  Until then, have a great day!

A Time to Honor America's Heroes

Happy Memorial Day!!!!

I sure hope everyone is having a fabulous day.  What a wonderful time to share with family and friends.  Today, I dedicating my card to my family.  Thank you for everything!!!

Card Recipe:

White cardstock - 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Red cardstock - 4" x 5 1/4"
White cardstock - 3 1/4" x 4 1/2"
Blue cardstock - 3 1/8" x 4 3/8"

The blue cardstock was embossed with the stars folder.  If you look close enough you can see them.  The image "Marching Guards" was reduced in size so it would fit the height of my card.  At the last minute I decided to put foam tape on the back of the image and doodle around it with a white gel pen.  I wrapped white ribbon 5/8" around the layers before adhering to the card.  The stars were purchased from JoAnn's last year.  I ran some twine called "Americana" through each of the stars and tied a knot in the front before gluing onto the card.

Thank you for stopping by on this special day.  Be sure to say "Thank You" to all our Men and Women who serve to make this Country "Free".

Classy & Fabulous

Hope everyone is having a fabulous Saturday!  Ours is sunny with clear blue sky. What a beautiful afternoon.....  Today I'm sharing a gift bag.  This month has been crazy with so many birthdays.  So I decided to make this gift bag instead of a card.

From the Silhouette Store I purchased this bag pinked edge tote by Samantha Walker.  You can locate the item here.

Close-up of the buckled straps.  I used silver glitter glue along the sides and put a large rhinestone on the buckle.  I went to the dollar store and was able to find some silver foil to fill the bag.

Here is a closer look of the straps.  On the bottom of the back I glued smaller rhinestones all along the sides.  Every girl needs a little bling!!!!

Have a wonderful weekend and as always thanks for stopping by.

Thinking of You

Oh, what a gorgeous day today has ended up being.  With all the flowers blooming I just couldn't resist posting a beautiful flower card.

But before I show you my card, I wanted to share some exciting news with you all. Late April I entered a challenge by Jellypark Stamp.  The theme was "one for the boys".  Last week they announced their top three winners.  Come to find out I was second winner.  Here was the card I entered:

Thank you ladies for picking me as one of your top winners.  I look forward to entering more challenges.  And with all said, I will be honored to share your badge on my blog.

Play along with us & win this badge! :)

Now with that said, let's get back to today's card.  I do have to say that I apologize for this picture as it is crooked.  When I put it on the scanner, the pearl in the center of the flower makes the card uneven.

Card Recipe:

Green cardstock - 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Cream cardstock - 4" x 5 1/4"
Pink cardstock - 3 3/4" x 5"
Patterned paper - 3 1/2" x 4 3/4"

I found this beautiful button flower by Sweet Elsie #38862 from the Silhouette store.  I cut it out on a darker pink cardstock.  Ran each piece through my cuttlebug using my swiss dots folder.  Chalked around each piece with a lighter pink and foam taped the flower together.  I also decided to not use the flower insert and put a cream pearl for the center.

The leaves were cut using the same green cardstock as the card.  The inserts for the leaves were cut from a darker green cardstock.  Each leaf was inked around with green ink.  I did not foam tape them down.  For the sentiment I used Hero Arts Clear Stamps "Everyday".  I inked it with Memento Tuxedo Black.  For the inside of the card, which is not shown, it was stamped "Because you're everything to us" using Everyday Expressions from The Paper Studio.

Thanks for stopping by and sharing this beautiful day with me.  Have a wonderful weekend.

There's nothing above a Mother's Love

Sharing another beautiful Mother's Day card.  Sure hope tomorrow is a lot nicer than today and yesterday.  Would really like to see some sunshine......   If not, I'll just continue to stare at this beautiful card.

This card was made using my cricut.  I used two different cartridges:  Wrap it Up and Kate's ABC.  I made a standard A2 card.

Card Recipe:

White cardstock - 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Green cardstock - 4" x 5 1/4"
Patterned Paper - 3 3/4" x 5"

For the fence, grass and roses, I used the cricut cartridge "Wrap It Up".  Everything except for the roses are located on page 45 and was cut at 3".  For the blue fence posts, I ran them through my cuttlebug using the swiss dots folder.

The roses are located on page 25 and cut at 1/2".  More pictures of the roses are below.  I added clear rhinestones to the center to help with a boost of bling.

The hat was cut from the cricut cartridge "Kate's ABC".  You can locate it on page 26.  I cut it at 1" and added small rhinestones to rim of the hat.

Happy Mother's Day was stamped on green cardstock and punched out with my EK label punch.  I again added some small rhinestones and ran hot pink ribbon and the patterned paper and tied a knot.  Attached to label to the card using foam tape.

Thanks for stopping by.  I sure hope your having a much nicer day then I am.  So I'll just continue to spend my day admiring this colorful card.  P.S. if you have a few seconds please leave a comment.

Happy Mother's Day

Since this Sunday is Mother's Day, I've decided to share one of the cards that I sent out to my Mothers'.  This card is a 5" x 5", so you will have to custom make your own envelope and add two stamps before sending.

From the silhouette store I used #56884 Flowers card by Daniela Angelova
It was cut in a cream color.  The patterned paper came from DCWV The Summer Scrapbook Kit in a Stack.  Just a note, I did slow down the speed on my cameo because of the swirls.

In my scraps I found a light yellow cardstock and ran it through my cuttlebug using Spellbinders Shapeabilities Twisted Metal Tags and Accents #S5-071.  Took a dark brown zig pen and stitched around the tag.  From there I used Hero Arts Poly Clear #CL498 stamp Happy Mother's Day and inked it with Distress Ink Tea Dye from Tim Holtz.  Since I had a lot of clear rhinestones, I got out my green bic marker, colored a few and attached.  Wrapped white ribbon 5/8" around patterned paper and then foam taped tag to card.

These flowers were cut out using DCWV The Summer Scrapbook Kit in a Stack.  Each were glued on top of the original one.  I also colored a few more rhinestones with my yellow bic maker and attached them to the center of the flowers.

I hope to have inspired a few of you with this cut.  It was very easy to use and simple to make.

Hugs to all Mother's this weekend!!!

Happy Birthday, Megan!!!!

Well today is our youngest daughter's 19th birthday.  Since she worked early this morning (5am) and has to go back to work early tomorrow morning.  We decided to take her out to lunch at Famous Dave's.  In celebration of her birthday, our waiter made her an extra special sundae.

And before she left for work this morning, Dad decided to write on her car.  Below are a few pictures that were taken.

But most importantly her birthday card.  I had her pick out her colors and she decided on all sparkle/glitter cardstock.  However, she had know idea what she was getting.  So let's take a look.....

This photo was take with her iphone.  She really liked the way it came out.  Below are more pictures that were taken earlier with a camera.

Closed

With two flaps open

Close up of the front flap.  I used the file A2 Box Card Easter bunny (#56777) by Lori Whitlock from the Silhouette Store.  I cut the frame out of both black and white glitter cardstock.  Then stamped "Happy Birthday" with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.  For all the banners, I included a white brad to help accent the multi color glitter cardstock.

Here is a close up of the card opened up.

Both the side panels were the same.  I also included silver glitter glue.

I added rhinestone to the cake.  They were originally clear until I took my marker pens and was able to match the color turquoise.  For the candle I put a small amount of yellow glitter glue to the top.

The present was cut out of several different glitter cardstock.  After putting it all together, I realized that it still needed some bling.  So I added a clear rhinestone to the bow.  Seeing this in person looks a lot better then this picture.  Everything was cut using the A2 Box Card Birthday (#56156) by Lori Whitlock from the Silhouette Store.

Thanks for stopping by and sharing this very special day with us.

Happy Birthday, Honey!!!!!!

Well, Thursday was my husband's birthday and tomorrow is our Daughter's birthday.  And then today was Montana State University (MSU) graduation. Congratulations to all you grads!!!!!!!  So let's just say it was been a very busy week and weekend.

Today's card is the one that my daughter and I gave to Dad/Husband for his birthday.  Since he already received it and I can share it with you all.

Last time I was in hobby lobby I found this really cute paper from The Paper Studio "Stonewashed".  I thought it would work great for a masculine card.

From the silhouette store I used Mounted Deer by Carta Bella #51868.

As for the banner, well you can locate several different ones in the silhouette store.  I personally can locate the exact one at the time since I have several banners to choose from.  I hand wrote "Deer" with my black zig pen.

I used small black brads for the eyes.  I outlined the deer just a little with brown and brushed some light pink for the nose and ears.  Then I added a small amount of black to the ears, nose and antlers to help with age.

Hope everyone has had a wonderful and nice day.  Once again, Congratulations to all College Grads!!!!!!
