Happy Birthday Ava!!!!

This weekend is our Granddaughter's second birthday.  We are so excited to spend this special time with her while she is still living close to Grandma, Grandpa and Auntie Megan.

Here is the card I made for her.  It's called clear card with die cuts.  You can find the video on YouTube.

Recipe Card:

Clear Plastic (8 1/2" x 5 1/2" scored in half)
Balloons - SVG (2 3/4", 2 1/2", & 1 3/4") - white cardstock; make 4 sets of each size
Reduce the balloon size by .10" - Multi color cardstock

Clear stamps
Color Box (White)
Black DMC Floss for bows

Recollection Rhinestones
Paper Studio Stamp
Color Box (White)

Inside the card where we will leave our message for our Granddaughter.  This is where you will need to add two sets of the white balloons.

Finally, the rear view of the card.  This is where you will add your final group of balloons.  This card was so easy to put together.  Thank you for stopping by, I know its been awhile since I've last post.  Have a wonderful week.

Congratulations!!!! Mr. & Mrs. Gomez

This evening is a very special one.  Our first billet kid is getting married.  So we are very excited for him and his bride.  Congratulations!!!!!!  In their honor, I'm sharing their wedding card that I made for the lovely couple.  So let's take a look.......

Recipe Card:

White cardstock - 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Black cardstock - 4" x 5 1/4"
White cardstock - 3 7/8" x 5 1/8"

"Wishing you both a lifetime of Love" was computer generated using Before the Rain font at a 14pt on white cardstock sized 1 1/2" x 4".  For the border, I used 5 borders by Lori Whitlock #21684 cut it out of black cardstock using my silhouette cameo.  I only cut one out and cut it to fit both the top and bottom of the sentiment.

Took my white cardstock (3 7/8" x 5 1/8") and ran it through my cuttlebug.  The folder that I used was a 5" x 7" cuttlebug folder.  I didn't write the name on the folder, so I don't know the name of it.  I then adhered white pearls from Recollection to help give some dimension.

These flowers were cut out of purple cardstock using the cricut cartridge "Flower Shoppe".  On page 12, I cut the basic 1 flower at 4".  Rolled and glued them.  I then added some glossy accents glue to the top of the rose.  For the leaves, you can find them on page 22.  I used the very last one.  I believe I cut three of them out of green cardstock at 3/4" or 1".  Then inked them up with Tim Holtz Distress Ink peeled paint.

Inside Recipe Card:

Black cardstock - 4" x 5 1/4"
White cardstock - 3 3/4" x 5"
Purple cardstock - 3 1/2" x 4 3/4", Martha Stewart heart punch was used after the cardstock was cut to size.
White cardstock - 3 1/4" x 4 1/3"
Green Ribbon wrapped around the purple and smaller white cardstock before adhering to the base card.

I plan on putting our personal message to special couple here.  This is why it is currently blank.

Well, I better get ready.  Don't want to be late for this wedding.  As always, thanks for stopping in over the weekend.  Have a wonderful day!!!

Recipe:

12" Box Wreath Frame (Joann's)
1 yard each (5-6 different colors)
Each yard was then cut to 1/4 then folded in half and cut in strips.  You can either leave them or cut them in half again.  That is what I did.
Star garland ($1.00 store)

Alternate each pattern and tie a knot.  Fill the entire wreath.

Blessings to You on Father's Day!

I understand that Father's Day is still a week away.  Did I say a week away? Wow, I need to get busy.  If your stuck and need an idea, then this one might help. However, I must say this is not your standard A2 card.  I had some scraps laying around and used them to make this card.  So make sure you pay close attention to the measurements, if you should decide to make this one.

Card Recipe:

Kraft cardstock - 4 1/4" x 5 3/8"
Brown cardstock - 4" x 5 1/8"
DCWV (Guy Stack) patterned paper - 3 3/4" x 4 7/8"

Cricut Cartridges:

April Showers - Clouds (1" & 3/4") Kraft cardstock
Elegant Edges - Butterfly Oblong (4") page 30; Kraft cardstock
Wildlife - Caribou (4") Brown cardstock

Green cardstock - 1" x 4"
Cream cardstock - 1/2"
Stamp - Studio 112 from JoAnn's
Memento Tuxedo Black Ink
Foam tape

Close up of the smaller cloud.  I inked around both clouds with Tim Holtz Distressed Ink Tea Dye.  Wove some Hemp through the green buttons (I won the hemp from DL Art during one of her challenges).  Glued them down with glossy accents.

It's Friday and I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.

You Are A Classic

As I mentioned the other day, yesterday was my birthday.  It rained of course, but we managed to plan around the weather.  The evening ended with an enjoyable dinner with friends and family.  I would like to thank you all for the blessed birthday wishes.  I hope I didn't forget to leave a comment on anyone's.

Now, for today's post.  Father's Day is just a few weeks away.  So to help you get started, I'm sharing this classic with you all.  If my Dad was still alive I know he would appreciate this card, since he owned a classic (1929 Model A).

Card Recipe:

Brown Cardstock - 5 1/2" x 4 1/4"
Patterned Paper - 5 1/4" x 4"

Cricut Cartridge Wrap It Up - Page 42 cut this tag at 1" out of brown cardstock.  Thread cream ribbon through the holes and wrap around the patterned paper.  The Sentimen was computer generated using Times New Roman 18pt for "You are a" and Freestyle Script 28pt for "Classic".  I printed this off on cream cardstock, sized it down to fit inside the brown tag, and adhered it with foam tape.

This classic car was also cut using the same cricut cartridge Wrap it Up.  It is also located on page 42.  I cut it out at 2 1/2" using brown, green and cream cardstock.

For the door, I ran it through my cuttlebug using with swirls folder.  I thought it needed some lift and then I decided to doodle around the same door.  As you can see from the photo above, I decided to do a lot of doodling on the car.  I used my white gel pen since I did not have a cream gel pen.

After assembling the card together, I added clear rhinestones to the wheels just for some extra bling.

Do keep in mind you don't have to give this card to a father for Father's Day.  You can also give it to him for his birthday.

I hope you have enjoyed you weekend.  Thanks again for all the birthday wishes.  You guys are all amazing.  Have wonderful Sunday.

Graduation Shaker Card

Today's been such a beautiful day.  So I wanted to get this posted quickly so I can enjoy the weather while I can.  Tomorrow we are do for rain.  Yuck!!!

Card Recipe:

Blue cardstock - 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
White cardstock 4" x 5 1/4"
Blue cardstock - 3 3/4" x 5"

Silhouette Store #43780 Polaroid Frame by Hero Arts (sized 3" x 4 1/2") cut out of white cardstock

Cricut cartridge Locker Talk

On page 48, I used the graduation hat on blackout at 1" and cut it out of black cardstock.  I glued it to the front of a piece of acetate.

Since MSU's colors are blue and gold.  I went to Joann's, purchased sequins by Darice in both colors, and added them inside my shake box.  I wrapped gold ribbon around the polariod frame and tied a knot in the front.

Cricut cartridge Flower Shoppe

On page 17, I cut the <Sunflwr2> at 2.60" x 4.12" out of Cartulina from Recollection.

I computer generated the sentiment using Times New Roman (22pt) and Cafe Rojo (28pt).  Note to self - next time give more spacing in between of and 2014.

I finished the card by adding some doodling with my white gel pen.

My daughter's girlfriend will be graduating this Fall (2014) from Montana State University, so what better time then now to start her card.

If you have any questions, please feel free to leave me a message.  I will be more than happy to assist you in anyway possible.  Otherwise, have a wonderful weekend.  I know I will because tomorrow is my birthday.  Can't wait to see what's in store for me.......  Until then, have a great day!

A Time to Honor America's Heroes

Happy Memorial Day!!!!

I sure hope everyone is having a fabulous day.  What a wonderful time to share with family and friends.  Today, I dedicating my card to my family.  Thank you for everything!!!

Card Recipe:

White cardstock - 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Red cardstock - 4" x 5 1/4"
White cardstock - 3 1/4" x 4 1/2"
Blue cardstock - 3 1/8" x 4 3/8"

The blue cardstock was embossed with the stars folder.  If you look close enough you can see them.  The image "Marching Guards" was reduced in size so it would fit the height of my card.  At the last minute I decided to put foam tape on the back of the image and doodle around it with a white gel pen.  I wrapped white ribbon 5/8" around the layers before adhering to the card.  The stars were purchased from JoAnn's last year.  I ran some twine called "Americana" through each of the stars and tied a knot in the front before gluing onto the card.

Thank you for stopping by on this special day.  Be sure to say "Thank You" to all our Men and Women who serve to make this Country "Free".

Classy & Fabulous

Hope everyone is having a fabulous Saturday!  Ours is sunny with clear blue sky. What a beautiful afternoon.....  Today I'm sharing a gift bag.  This month has been crazy with so many birthdays.  So I decided to make this gift bag instead of a card.

From the Silhouette Store I purchased this bag pinked edge tote by Samantha Walker.  You can locate the item here.

Close-up of the buckled straps.  I used silver glitter glue along the sides and put a large rhinestone on the buckle.  I went to the dollar store and was able to find some silver foil to fill the bag.

Here is a closer look of the straps.  On the bottom of the back I glued smaller rhinestones all along the sides.  Every girl needs a little bling!!!!

Have a wonderful weekend and as always thanks for stopping by.

Thinking of You

Oh, what a gorgeous day today has ended up being.  With all the flowers blooming I just couldn't resist posting a beautiful flower card.

But before I show you my card, I wanted to share some exciting news with you all. Late April I entered a challenge by Jellypark Stamp.  The theme was "one for the boys".  Last week they announced their top three winners.  Come to find out I was second winner.  Here was the card I entered:

Thank you ladies for picking me as one of your top winners.  I look forward to entering more challenges.  And with all said, I will be honored to share your badge on my blog.

Play along with us & win this badge! :)

Now with that said, let's get back to today's card.  I do have to say that I apologize for this picture as it is crooked.  When I put it on the scanner, the pearl in the center of the flower makes the card uneven.

Card Recipe:

Green cardstock - 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Cream cardstock - 4" x 5 1/4"
Pink cardstock - 3 3/4" x 5"
Patterned paper - 3 1/2" x 4 3/4"

I found this beautiful button flower by Sweet Elsie #38862 from the Silhouette store.  I cut it out on a darker pink cardstock.  Ran each piece through my cuttlebug using my swiss dots folder.  Chalked around each piece with a lighter pink and foam taped the flower together.  I also decided to not use the flower insert and put a cream pearl for the center.

The leaves were cut using the same green cardstock as the card.  The inserts for the leaves were cut from a darker green cardstock.  Each leaf was inked around with green ink.  I did not foam tape them down.  For the sentiment I used Hero Arts Clear Stamps "Everyday".  I inked it with Memento Tuxedo Black.  For the inside of the card, which is not shown, it was stamped "Because you're everything to us" using Everyday Expressions from The Paper Studio.

Thanks for stopping by and sharing this beautiful day with me.  Have a wonderful weekend.
