Dear Santa........

Wow!!!  Three more days and it's Christmas.  Yes, how exciting is that.  Well, I have something more exciting news to share with you all.  On December 18, 2012, our daughter blessed us with a baby girl.  Ava Denise arrived at 8:30 pm weighing 5' 15".  She was 36 weeks, six days and 3 1/2 hours from being 37 weeks.  So, what this meant was she was considered a preemie.  Momma and baby are doing really good.  As a matter of fact, they are already home and getting settled in.  Some more exciting news was that I was our daughters additional coach and was able to see our first Granddaughters birth.  What a miracle!!!!  I will be leaving the day after Christmas to stay with our daughter for a few weeks, so my posts might be sporadic.  This picture was taken within a few hours after delivery.......

Now onto today's card.  I wanted to make another shape card.  This one is of Santa.  Enjoy!!!

For this card you will need your gypsy and the cricut cartridge A Quilted Christmas.  On page 30 of the manual, I cut everything out at 5 1/2".  I started out welded two Santa's together <Santa1> to form the card base.  This was cut out in white cardstock.  I cut this same image out in red cardstock and adhered it to the base card.  From there, I just started layering.  <Layer1> was cut in red.  <Layer1-shift> was cut in white.  I hid the eyes on <Layer2> and only cut the hands out in black.  <Layer2 - shift> was cut in brown.

After putting Santa together.  I put stickles through all the swirls.  This helped give Santa a decorative red coat.

For his bag of toys, I used Tim Holtz "Tea Dye" and distressed his bag alittle.

For his furry cuffs and hat, I used some white puffy by tulip and heated it up to help make it look like fur.  When I was finished I added a little clear glitter on top to help make him sparkle some.

Since I choose not to cut out his eyes, I stamped his eyes with Momento Tuxedo Black and took some pink ink to give him rosy cheeks and pink lips.
