Fun in the Sun

What a beautiful day today is.  Happy Easter everyone!!!

Today I wanted to share another shape card with you.  Unfortunately, this one doesn't deal with Easter.  Next week is my Brother-In-Law's birthday.  He will be a whoopin 45.........  Him and his family have just returned home from Hawaii on a family vacation.  So I wanted to keep him in that Hawaii mood.

So let's take a look at his birthday card.  Shall we........

For this simple card, I used my gypsy.  I first chose the cricut cartridge "Life is a Beach".  I used the image "SwmTrunk" on page 62.  I welded to shorts together at 4 1/2".

The layers for shorts were cut at 6".

For the draw string holes I used two blue eyelets and ran DMC floss through and knotted.  Love these colors for guy shorts.  Can't seem to make a simpler card than that.

Well Happy Birthday Mark!!!  Thank you all for sharing a little time with me on this beautiful Easter day.

Basket Full of Easter Eggs

Wow!!!  I can't believe that tomorrow is already Easter.  So since everyone will be celebrating Easter on Sunday.  I thought I would share my Basket Full of Easter Eggs with you today.

I decided to cut three different colored eggs at 1" using my Easter 2010 Cricut Cartridge and then running them through my cuttlebug using "Swiss Dots and Swirls".  I inked "Coffee Bean" around each egg.

This flower is the same flower print on the basket from the Easter 2010 Cricut Cartridge.  I used my gypsy to cut the basket at 4 1/4", then I hid all images and only cut the flower.  The rhinestones were just an added benefit to help accent and cover the holes that I forgot to hide.

Here is the final results of my card.  It is a standard A2 card.  Again I used the Easter 2010 cricut cartridge to cut all images.  The basket and bow was cut at 4 1/4" and the eggs at 1".

Here is a list of the challenges I chose to enter:

* Cooking with Cricut - Easter themed

* Getting Cricky - Easter Blessings

* D.L Art - Thankful Thursday Easter

Time is running short, so I hope to see some of you join me in these challenges.

Today is the day.....

Wow, I can't believe that today is April 1, 2012 and it's snowing.......  No I'm not fooling.  Around here it can snow everyday.

Next week on Easter is my Sister-In-Laws birthday along with my Nephews.  But this card is for my Sister-In-Law.  So let's get started.

I chose pink for my base card as an A2 standard card.  Matted white cardstock (5" x 3 3/4") to the pink after piercing the tails for the balloons.  Got my Doodlecharms Cricut cartridge out and cut three different colored balloons at 1", cutting off the strings.  Threw all three balloons at once through my cuttlebug with the Swiss dot folder.

With one of the balloons, I foam taped the back to give it some dimension.  Then adhered them to the white matte just above the first piercing holes.

Then I added a small piece of pink ribbon and tied a bow.  Adhered it to the intersection of the piercing holes to help show them gathered together.

For the sentiment I wanted to use "today is the day" followed with "to celebrate" inside the card.  Since I don't have very many ink stamp pads I tend to stick with the basics.  So I used black ink and stamped it on pink cardstock (2 1/2" x 1 1/4").  Took some white liquid pearls to fill in the upper corner since I thought it needed something.

So that is my card today.  Happy Birthday Deb!!!
