Happy Birthday, Austin!!!

Well, hello everyone!!!  I know it's been several days since my last post.  I apologize.  The week after Valentine's Day, I went to visit my oldest daughter.  When I got back home all heck broke loose.  First, it was my computer with it's speed.  We had a computer guy come out and tell me that I needed a new LAN card.  So off we went to get a new card.  Then we had an electrician come in and hard wire me a new line.  That helped alittle.  But come the next day it became worse.  So we took it into Staples and had them clean the tower.  That helped......  Then we turned for the worse again.  So we decided since my computer was over eight years old.  It was time to get a new tower.

Then the fun began with a new tower and new programs.  Boy!!!  What a headache.  But I think we might finally be up and running.  Thank you!!!  Anyway, enough blah blah about my computer.  Onto today's card.

A Big shout out to our nephew "Austin".  Today he has turned eight.  Happy Birthday to you, buddy.  So, today I'm sharing his birthday card with all of you.  Several months ago while surfing the Internet I came across this card.  Of course, I made some adjustments to mine.

I started with cutting the pizza image out at 3 1/2" with Simply Charmed Cricut Cartridge.  You can find it on page 76.  All layers were cut at the same size.  I brown stamped around the green pepper, mushrooms, and pepperoni.  The card base was grey cardstock (4 1/4" x 5 1/2").  The blue cardstock was cut a 4" x 3".  The pattern paper by The Paper Studio - Birthday Extravaganza was also cut and 4" x 3".  I over lapped the paper and added red ribbon.

For the birthday sign I stamped Happy Birthday from a G Studio stamp in red and rounded the sides. Then I used the same red ink to shade the edges.  Adhered it to the card with foam to help give it a lift.

I did the same with the pizza.  Wow, all this work and now I'm ready for a slice myself.  Again, Happy Birthday!!!!

Thank you all for stopping by.  Hope you all have had a wonderful Saturday.

Happy Valentine's Day

Wow!!! What a fantastic day today is/was......

First off, last night my sixteen year old decided she wanted to give away gift bags to a few of her friends.  So off I went.  Finding things for a simple yet quick project.

I had some treat bags from Wilton hanging around.  So needless to say, that was a start.  Then I had some left over red cardstock that I cut down to size (3"x3").  Scored in half.  But first I needed to fill these treat bags with some goodies.

The red cardstock was used to staple shut the bags closed.  I then used white cardstock (2 3/4" x 1 1/4") stamped in black ink Happy Valentine's Day! along with hearts in red ink.

Finally, I doodled dots using my black zig pen.   Then attach the white to the red.  Whaa laa.......

Then later on this evening, I received word that I was a Valentine Giveaway "Winner" over at Purple Cows Blog.  Needless to say, today has been an amazing day.  Oh yeah, I almost forgot the most important event of the entire day.  A very lovely evening with both my daughter and husband at the Mint Cafe.  Thanks to the chef for an awesome meal........  and the delicious chocolate dipped strawberries.

I hope everyone had a fabulous day.  Happy Valentine's Day!, once again.

Heart Shaped Bag

Hope everyone has had a great weekend.  We finally received much needed snow.  But of course, it's melting quickly.  Today's project, I decided not to do a card.  Instead, I made a heart shape bag.  I can't wait to share this with you.  It was very easy to make.

I used a 12" x 12" patterned paper.  On page 117 of my cricut cartridge Tags, Bags, Boxes & More, I used "heartbag".  I cut it as large as I could using the blackout feature (6" ?).  Scored and taped where needed.  Then on page 91 of the same cartridge I cut the scallop tag at 2" on blackout in red.   Then again in white at 1 3/4".  I stitched around the white tag with my black zig pen.  Then used "love you and heart" from both Fiskars "Friendship Garden and All Year Greetings" stamps.  Stamped them in red ink.  Used some DMC white floss and threaded it through the red heart button from Hobby Lobby and attached all to the bag.  Then I wanted to attach a red rose to the bag.  So, I used Flower Shoppe Cricut Cartridge.  On page 13, I cut the Scallop1 image at 2 1/2" out of red.  I used my quill tool to wrap the image around to form the rose.  On page 17, I then cut a Sunflower4 image at 1" out of green and attached it to the bottom of the rose.  Using my quill tool I rounded the petals to help form the rose and finalized the rose with Glossy Accents.  After the rose was dry I attached it to the bag in the corner.

Finally, I used red tissue inside bag and filled it with my favorite bite size sweets (i.e. Reese hearts, Hershey hearts, Snicker bite size bars).  Wrapped some 3/8" ribbon "Valentine's Day" from Hobby Lobby around the handles to seal the bag closed.

My daughter will be receiving this on the morning of Valentine's Day!!!

Life's Simple Heart

Good Morning Scrappers!!

Well with only four days left before Valentine's Day.  I thought I would finish this weekend up with some more cards for your loved ones.

With this card, I was thinking of what scraps I have left over that I could make a simple but yet elegant Valentine's Day card.  So, the first thing I came across were these lovely rhinestone hearts by Recollection.  From there everything else seemed to just flow.......

I attached the red rhinestone heart to a piece of white card (3 1/2" x 4 3/4").  But before I could do that I put the white cardstock through my cuttlebug using the hearts folder.

I then attached the white cardstock to red cardstock (3 3/4" x 5") and adhered that to the base card (white; 4 1/4" x 5 1/2").  Presto!!!!  Now, all I have to do is right my verse inside and give it away......

True Love

Can you believe that we are only a week away from Valentine's Day?  You can defiantly feel the love in the air.  For today's card, I made another very simple card.  Most of it was old school making.......

I used a standard 8 1/2 x 11 white cardstock.  Cut it in half length wise (4 1/4 x 11).  Scored length 11" in half.  Your card should open horizontal.  Then I cut another white cardstock to measure 3 3/4 x 5.  With this same cardstock I measured a 1/2" away from each side drawing another rectangle inside the cardstock.  Then I used my paper cutter and cut the lines, giving the cardstock an opening.  I doubled my foam tape and attached it to the main card.

With some Vellum I stamped "True Love" by Studio G in black ink.

I then attached hot red brads to the vellum and rectangle frame.

For the heart I got out my Sweetheart Cricut Cartridge.  On page 40 of the manual, I cut the heart at 2" using the shift/shadow feature.  The paper I used was DCWV "the Christmas & Winter Combo - Shimmer Red.  I single foam taped it to the center of the card.

Hi Everyone!!!  Hope you all had a wonderful week.  Today's card is very simple.  I've been trying to use different cricut cartridges that can be used to make Valentine's Day cards.  I decided to use Damask Decor and Flower Shoppe to make this card.  Here is what I came up with....

First I would like to apologize for the quality of this picture.  My scanner must not have liked this card to well (ha,ha).  I recently got a new scanner, so I am still playing with it.  I cut this card at 5 1/4" using the card/shift feature on page 67 of the manual.  I cut it twice.  One in a pale grey and one in a black.  I decided to use the pale grey as the base card.  I cut the black card in half, adhering the main portion to the front of the card.  Reducing the other portion by an 1/8" all away around and adhering it to the inside of the card.  I then used the card feature to cut the heart out in red cardstock.  I attached the heart to the front of the card using zig 2 way glue.

On the same pale grey, I stamped "Love" by Fiskars All Year Greetings.  I used cranberry ink by ColorBox and filled in the love with my micron 05 red.   I cut the pale grey down to a 3" x 1" and inked black around all sides.

I wanted to attach a flower to this card.  So I used Flower Shoppe Cricut Cartridge.  On page 13, I cut the Scallop1 image at 2 1/2" out of red.  I used my quill tool to wrap the image around to form the rose.  On page 17, I then cut a Sunflower4 image at 1" out of green and attached it to the botton of the rose.  Using my quill tool I rounded the petals to help form the rose and finalized the rose with Glossy Accents.  After the rose was dry I attached it to the "Love" sign.

Finally for the inside of the card.  I just used two circles and stamped Happy Valentine's Day twice in white ink to give it hat 3D look.  Added some rhinestones to both the inside bottom corners and front.  Simple as can be.....

Thanks for stopping by and have a great Sunday......

Love grows............

Hi Scrappers!!!  Sure hope you are having a wonderful Saturday.  Today's card is a scallop shape card.  Before I tell you how I made it, let me show you some pictures first.

So in order to make this lovely card.  I used my wildcard cricut cartridge.  I cut the scallop shape card at 5 1/2" out of black cardstock.   Adhered a smaller circle out of pink for the layer.  The ribbon I used was from The Robert Stanley Collection located at your Hobby Lobby store.

For the flower I used George and Basic Shapes cricut cartridge with the DCWV Christmas and Winter Combo paper (White Shimmer).  Cut the flower out on Shadow/Blackout three times at 2 1/2".  To put this flower together I did a search on paper roses.  There are several tutorials to choose from.  The one I chose was Kathy Orta from Paper Phenomenon.  Her tutorial was very easy to understand.  After putting the rose together, I needed to add some leaves.  I chose to use Flower Shoppe cricut cartridge and cut the heart leaf at 2 1/2" on green cardstock.  I inked around the leaves and then thinly drew lines as the vains.  Attached the leaves to the rose with my hot glue gun.  With the same white shimmer card stock I punched out two small butterflies from Studio G.

I then found this lovely stamp "Love grows" in the Fiskars "Friendship Garden" collection.  I stamped it directly on the pink with Brilliance Pearl Ivy.  To finish my card, I doodled stitches around the scallops with my white gel pen, doodled around the pink cardstock with my black zig pen and added both green and hot pink rhinestones.

I Love You!!!!

Happy Hump Day Scrappers!!!  Can you believe that today is February 1st?  Where did January go?  Well in any case, I wanted to start this month with another beautiful Valentine's Day card.  Keep in mind this card can also be used as a Mother's Day, Sympathy, Just Because,or Birthday card.

The base card is a light pink scored in half to make an A2 size card.  I used two different pattern papers cutting them both at 3 x 5 1/2.  I adhered the first patterned paper to the left side and then attached the other patterned paper to the right side.  That way they both over lapped each other.

I wanted to use a different cartridge, so I decided to use Elegant Cakes.  I used "Accent2" on page 29.  I cut the image at 2 1/2".  However the next time I cut this image, I think I will have to slow down the speed.  This image has a lot of fine cutting and as you can see in the above picture it almost took off one of the leaves.  I used the shift button to cut the roses out in white cardstock.  Before I removed them from the mat I inked them with Versa Magic "Pink Dust".  Then I added a few pearls to give it some dimension.

Here is a closer look of the pearls that I added.  The one in the middle is a little larger then the others.

With the same pearls I decided to add a few to the right corner of the card.  These pearls are from Recollection.

After attaching everything to the base of the card.  I stamped "I LOVE YOU" with Brilliance Pearl Ivy and added a few more pearls.  I think if I was to remake this card I might use a darker stamp color.

So that's the over all of how I made this card.  I hope you all are having a fantastic week so far.  Look forward to reading your comments, so please post some.  Thanks!!!!!
