Simply Sunday "Winged Things"

This week at Getting Cricky the design team is featuring any project that has to do with "Winged Things".

Below is my entry and I personally can not remember who I got the idea from.  So, if you have seen something similar to this.  Please pass the word and let them know I'm thanking them for their had work and great idea.  The cricut cartridge that I used was picturesque (page 65).  I folded the black cardstock in thirds.  Added some rhinestones, glitter glue, white ribbon, and wrote with a white gel pen.  Then I stamped "Miss You" in white.  Here it is:

Challenge Requirements:
1. Post any "winged" project of your choice & link up by 9/10/2011.
2. Make sure their blinkie is up on your sidebar, and your blog post entry is linked back to their blog Getting Cricky

4. Have fun & spread the word!
5. The winner will receive a $15.00 GIFT card to K ANDREW DESIGNS stamp online store so you can pick a stamp set of your choice!

I know, I know.......  Where have I been?  Well, I'm trying to get back into the swing of things.  Playing catch up is the hardest thing lately.  I've decided to enter into a new challenge.  This one is from Designs by Lisa Somerville.  This week we're playing Tic-Tac-Toe!

Just like a game of tic-tac-toe, you'll need to use THREE squares, either across, diagonal or down, the items in the squares are the items you'll need to use on your card.  For example, if I went diagonally (left top to bottom right), I would have to include Embossing, Pattern Paper and Ribbon or Seam Binding on my creation.  Pretty easy, right!

Okay, so onto my card.  Yes, I have made something similar to this card several times.  However, all of them being different.  This one is by far the best one....  The Tic Tac Toe that I used was Bling/Gems, Flowers, Ribbon/Seam Binding

Kraft cardstock (4 1/2 x 4 1/2)
 Jubilee Teal Florals & Butterfly by K&Company pattern mat (4 1/4 x 4 1/4)
Elegant Edges cartridge (page 25)
Swirl1-s (3 3/4) - Tan by The Paper Company "Cypress" fashion colors
       Shadow (3 3/4) - Green by Recollections

Stamp "Thank Heaven for special friends like you"
Brown Ribbon
Recollections "Boutique Fleur"
Dew Drop Brilliance - Coffee Bean

Thanks for stopping by and viewing my card.  Your comments are as always greatly appreciated.....  Have a FABULOUS weekend and for those of you on the East coast, be safe!   We are praying for you all!!!

Just wanted to share another "Thank You" card with you all.  This one was made the same as the other one.  All I did is change the front.  The ladies from church made an evening meal for my family during our time of loss.  I will be giving this card to them in the morning at church.  The inside scripture reads:  "On behalf of my family and I, we want to personally thank you for the delicious food preparation and meal that you provided for our family.  This token of love is greatly appreciated by each one of us during our time of loss".  Hope you all like it.........

Again, thank you all for following me.  Hope you're having a wonderful Saturday evening.  God Bless!!!

What a beautiful day it was today (82 degrees).  There were just a few clouds.  So instead of working on my cards.  I decided to take another break.  This one was to enjoy family time.  We packed our car and truck and headed West to the Madison River.  Out came the bathing suits, sunscreen, and rafts.  Oh yeah, I cant forget the ice chest.  Our neice, who is seven, has never floated the river.  So she was really excited.  Here are some photos that we took during our float.  It took us over two (2) hours, but had a blast.

Now that evening has arrived.  The clouds, thunder, lightning, and rain have also arrived.  But that is nothing new for us locals.

Hope you all have had a wonderful Saturday.  Good evening and God bless!!! XOXOX

While going through photos this week.  We came across a picture of a card we sent to my nephew for his 18th birthday.  Unfortunately I can't remember how I made it.  I think I used the Stand & Salute cartridge.

On the front I computerated the saying and then used both red and blue zip pens to draw lines across.  I also used white and red glitter glue to accent the fire crackers and stars.

For the inside I computer generated the saying and and stars with glitter glue and used curvy rulers to make the lines and gold glitter to add dots.

I apologize for the pictures being blurry.  I sure hope you like this card.  My nephew sure did.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek.  Have a great evening........

Good evening all!!!  It's been a ruff couple of weeks.  First my husband's entire family from both Indiana and Nevada came out to visit with us for 10 days.  During their visit, my father passed away.  I was so thankful to have family with me during this sudden loss.  My family prays everyday for what God has blessed us with.  My father was a great man and I look forward to the day that we meet again.  I LOVE YOU, DAD!!!!!

However, now I need to start focusing on what my father would have liked me to do.  That would be to share my passion for crafting.  So with this note, my Mother-In-Law's birthday was July 30th.  I, of course, didn't have the strive to finish her card.  She totally understood and said when I'm ready, she'll be waiting for it cause she knows I always put my heart and soul into making my cards.  So here is the card that I finally finished for her this evening.

White cardstock (4 1/4 x 5 1/2)
Burgundy mat (4 x 5 1/4)
Pattern mat (3 3/4 x 5)

Elegant Edges cartridge (page 22)
       Oblong Frame (3 3/4) - Burgundy
       Shift Shadow (3 3/4) - White

Mother's Day Bouquet cartridge
Leaf (3 @ 2 1/2)

Stamp "Happy Birthday"
Recollection "Pearls"
Recollections "Boutique Fleur" (3 flowers)

I just wanted to tell you all that your kind thoughts have been a great blessing to my family.  Thank you all for following me.  God Bless you all!!!!

Since I haven't entered in challenges for awhile.  I decided to start by entering this beautiful card into Use It Challenge.  I was shocked to learn what I have hoared (pearls, large brad, and (3) different flowers combined into one).  Sure hope to like it.  Your comments are always greatly appreciated.
